My weekend in a hotel in Liège, Belgium

luik3

If you are looking for an interesting destination for a city and not want to really have far to go, you should be sure to stay a few days in an hotel in Liege. The city is really a jewel and is unfortunately still too many people underestimate. I stay, both professionally and during the holiday in one of the many excellent hotels in Liege.

The City on Fire leaves no one unmoved. Liège is a city of parks and gardens, endowed with an important historical heritage (the Perron, symbol of urban liberties, the Prince Bishop Palace, the Cathedral, the Collegiate church of St. Jacob, St. Martin and St. Bartholomew with their glorious baptismal fonts, etc.). Liège is a city where the good life, where the river is the soul of the city, where streets, stairs (Thiers), with rates and quiet dead-end streets, located near the center, certainly worth exploring during a walk.

The city is ideal for a fun weekend in a hotel in Luik. There is this beautiful city on the Meuse is an ideal starting point to the hills and the nature of the Ardennes to discover. The city is close to Maastricht and is easily accessible by train, car and even by boat via the river Meuse are achieved. Staying in Liege hotel will soon convince you of the fact that the city in recent years a real kunstad has become, after the opening of several new museums and a combination of 1 to 4 museums, the Museum of Walloon life. Another must is to visit the Sunday market “la Batte” on the Quai de Maestricht. On this market is anything offered, from antiques to some goodies to eat. The fun of the center is that this car-free, and pub or restaurant is never far away.

Staying in a hotel in Leuven

leuven2

Just back from a couple nights in a hotel in Leuven, because I student what I wanted to explore before next year itself ga study. It seems there is very nice to in Leuven and is studying a lot more than attend classes and sit behind your books. The whole academic year is full of activities and for students. For example, the Student Welcome the Interfaculty Song or 24-hour course? But during the summer, the city sparkles with Marktrock as festivals and events such as snack and Beleuvenissen Tapje and Flanders sings in Leuven.

The entertainment in Leuven appear to be almost legendary. The Old Market is rightly known as’ the longest bar in the world. ” In this area you will find quite a few hotels in Leuven, like cafes, you will find anywhere in the city, next to trendy restaurants and hip fuifzalen to everyone’s taste and wallet. From my hotel in Leuven. I got a good picture of what it should as a student. And then there are the fakbars: unique in Flanders and a popular meeting place. In a so called “fakbar” are the students themselves behind the bar and the beers cost to students. Spring is certainly in agreement on a Thursday evening, the entertainment evening of Leuven students. Also culture freaks may Leuven their heart’s content. The offer is simply overwhelming-in: theater, dance, literature, film, pop, rock or classical music, visual arts …

During my stay in that Leuven hotels I wanted to agree to the sports studies. Well known among students is the sportkot, with pool, gym, aerobics and dance programs, athletic tracks, football, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, indoor sports … Students who are in possession of a sports free lot ( group) classes to participate. The ’sportkot is also the backdrop for some sporting events for students, including students and marathon Sportana Fata. The Leuven hotel where I was staying in a nice neighborhood, not far from the Botanical Gardens, the oldest existing botanical garden in Belgium.

From Ghent to Knokke

knokke1

Knokke is definitely one of the best places along the Belgian coast to stay. Choosing a hotel in Knokke means choosing to stay in a rousing and very lively resort, the eternal dunes near the beautiful nature reserve ‘t Zwin, the famous shopping street, the Lippenslaan, delicious restaurants, trendy bars, terraces and a large sandy beach and beachfront store, etc. .. In a Knokke hotel nobody will be bored, whether you’re on your own or with children, whether you are now retired or still at school, whether you are rich or less fortunate …
The range of hotels Knokke is such that everyone can find at least one Knokke hotel. Just like in the hotels in Blankenberge or a hotel in Oostende the case though. All hotels in Knokke throughout the year are ready to receive guests and provide them with a very soothing yet exciting, unforgettable time with us.

Ghent

The City of Artevelde

Ghent is an important city in Belgian history. In the Middle Ages the city grew into one of the biggest cities of Europe. Ghent is also known as the Artevelde city. Johan van Artevelde was a revolutionary and leader of the people in Ghent and Flanders during the Middle Ages. His statue is still located on the Vrijdagsmarkt (Friday Square) in the city centre. Ghent is also the city where in the 16th century Charles V was born, Holy Roman Emperor and the first King Charles of Spain. Today, Ghent is a flourishing city with a port and 35.000 university students.

Ghent is not as touristic as Bruges, which is an important asset. The city has a beautiful medieval city centre that is not fully packed with tourists. Instead, you can quietly enjoy the city’s cosy atmosphere on the numerous squares and snug corners. There are quite a lot of hotels in Ghent. It is not a bad idea to spend the night in Ghent, as the city’s night life is very lively, partly because of the thousands of students who live all over the city. Especially in the high season it is still recommended to book your hotel in Ghent in advance.

Being called the Venice of the north, Bruges offers a beautiful setting outside and inside. Moreover, the city holds a treasure of Belgian’s finest art, with as a high point the Flemish Primitives. The hotels in Brugge are a bit more expensive than in Ghent, but surely worth the visit. Hotel Albert I in Bruges is an affordable family hotel that is a hop away from the city centre.
